Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission is an organization to recruit candidates in various groups and here we are giving some important information about APPSC Group I Syllabus 2017, so those who are ready to face this examination can check the information before appearing.

APPSC Group I Exam Pattern 2017

Screening Test:

General Studies & Mental Ability (Objective Type) 150 Questions with Duration of 2 and half hours.

The above examination will be only for screening the candidates comprising General Studies and Mental Ability.

Writtem Examination: (Essay Question)

A. COMPULSORY SUBJECTS: General English with 3 hours of Duration and maximum marks will be 150.

Paper I: General Essay with 3 hours of duration with maximum marks of 150.

Paper II: (Duration: 3hours and Marks: 150)

i. History & Cultural heritage of India with emphasis on 20th century history of India.

ii. Social history of Andhra Pradesh i.e., the history of different social and cultural movements in A.P.

iii. Overview of the Indian Constitution.

Paper-III: (Duration: 3hours and Marks: 150)

i. Planning in India & Indian Economy

ii. Land Reforms and social changes in Andhra Pradesh after independence

iii. Andhra Pradesh’s Economy, status at present, its strengths and weaknesses.

Paper-IV: (Duration: 3hours and Marks: 150)

i. The role and impact of Science & Technology in the development of India with emphasis on the applied aspects

ii. General awareness with the modern trends in life sciences.

iii. Development and environmental problems

Paper-V: (Duration: 3hours and Marks: 150)

i. Data appreciation and interpretation

ii. The candidates will be asked to draw their picture from the data given in the tabular form in graphical or otherwise

iii. Problem solving with their own mind for the situations given in the examination.

APPSC Group I Mains Syllabus

Total marks will be 750 and those who qualify in this written examination will be called to attend for Oral Test (Interview) which carries 75 and the grand total will be 825. Those who belongs to reserved category will gain some concession on the marks which are to be qualified under the norms of Government of India.

Except General English paper, candidates can appear all the remaining papers in their languages like Telugu, Hindi and Urudu. But candidates do not attempt the examination part of the paper in English and rest of it in Telugu or Urdu. Candidates have to appear for all the papers in Main examination and Personal Interview and absent in any of the above will lead for disqualification.
